Conflict Resolution Procedures

Air International Virtual Airlines aims to be a trouble-free virtual airline. However, we understand that from time to time there may be differences in opinion. Whilst we respect this and promote active discussion we do not permit the use of vulgar, obscene or defamatory language or attitude.

If a member feels that the differences between him/her and another member or group of members cannot be resolved among themselves, the member should email the CEO who will follow these steps to reach a conclusion/decision:

  • contact both parties and receive a summary of the issue and their opinions as to what should be done

  • liaise with other departments, organisations or members, if necessary

  • look at a history of previous problems between the parties involved

  • arrange a meeting with both parties and moderate a discussion on the matter.

In order to operate this conflict resolution policy fairly a table of breaches of the code of conduct and consequences has been designed. This table is by no means exhaustive and the final decision on the consequences to be applied is at the discretion of the CEO.

Type of Breach Seriousness Possible Consequence
Lack of professionalism/competence when flying online. Minor Suspended until training programme complete
Misuse of website, email or TeamSpeak services Dependent on situation Suspended at the discretion of CEO or permanently suspended
Misuse of the Air International Virtual Airlines name and branding (including defamatory comments outside the VA) Major Permanently suspended
Spreading of malicious gossip, rumours or comments Dependent on situation Suspended at the discretion of CEO or permanently suspended
Argumentative or aggressive tone on TeamSpeak, the discussion forums, emails or other communication media Dependent on situation Suspended at the discretion of CEO or permanently suspended

We always aim to give a formal warning in the first occurrence, however repeated incidents will result in more serious consequences.

For clarification on the conflict resolution procedure please email the CEO.
